Anna Jean Baxter Vincent

SOUTH CARROLLTON S – Anna Jean Baxter Vincent, 94, of South Carrollton, passed away Friday, April 4, 2025, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Born May 16, 1930, in Martwick. Her mother was Anna Mildred Staples and her father was Willie McLean Baxter. She was married to James (Pete) Farrah Baxter October 15, 1949. They had five children; James Wallace, Terry Michael, Linda Ann, Robert McLean, and Darla Gaye. She attended church at First Baptist church in Central City, where she taught Sunday School, and worked with the GA’s Acteens and the WMU. Anna had a heart for talking about Jesus, and took mission trips to Chile, India, and Japan, from which she maintained lifelong friendships. Anna also taught bible studies at the local nursing facilities.

A lifelong love of history, Anna loved to tell stories about her beloved grandmother, Ella Staples. She loved genealogy, and was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution. She was an avid quilter and crocheter, and crocheted caps for the Backpack Ministry and baby booties for the Young Mothers Ministry and any newborn baby she knew. But what made her happiest was being surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Anna and Willie Baxter; the love of her life, husband James (Pete) Baxter; husband, Hollis Divine Vincent; and brother, William Larry Baxter.
