CARROLLTON, Ga. – Alda June Brooks Harrison, age 81, of Carrollton, Ga., passed away Thursday, March 13, 2025. Born July 5, 1943 in Paradise, Ky. to the late George Brooks and Nina Harlan Brooks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Billy Harrison; brother and sister in law, James and Wanda Brooks; and brother in law, Dennis Richmond.
June graduated with the Drakesboro High School Class of 1961. She was a devoted Christian and currently attended the Calvary Assembly of God in Cedartown. She loved to support various missions and was a servant in children’s ministries for many years. She was filled with talent and creativity. She was a seamstress, sewing and altering many of her family’s clothes. She was a wonderful artist and singer, who loved to share her gifts with those she loved.
Survivors include her daughters, Vanessa Pickett, of Sugar Hill, Ga., Michele Hicks, of Bremen, Ga., and Kelly Laminack, of Muscadine, Ala.; seven grandchildren, ; sisters, Bettye Ford, of Ind., Charlotte Roush, of Ind., Mary Dell Richmond, of Ky., and Ovada Richmond, of Ky.
A graveside service will be held Monday, March 17, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Buttrum officiating. A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Assembly of God in Cedartown.
